This proposal describes a project with five
components. The common theme uniting these components is
providing NASA competency-building education and research
opportunities for academic faculty and higher education students
so as strengthen Vermont's STEM pipeline and contribute to
Outcome 1 (Employ and Educate) of the framework that guides the
NASA Education portfolio. An integral part of each project
component is the involvement of undergraduate and/or graduate
students preparing for careers in STEM disciplines and the
direct use of NASA data, information, research content,
scientific or technical activities, people and facilities.

Funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Vermont Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) is one of a network of 52 university-based Space Grant Consortia representing every state, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. Through this national network, over 963 affiliate organizations are funded to support science and engineering students, to provide public service, and to offer K-12 science education programs.
