2003 NASA ACADEMY RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Jeffrey (Jeff) Kujawa, is a
mechanical engineering graduate student at the
University of Vermont. Jeff was selected 5th
from 400 applicants to attend the 2003 NASA
Academy, as a Research Associate (RA) at
Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD.
Jeff conducted research on Monopropellent
Supersonic Microthrusters, under the
supervision of a NASA Principal Investigator
in the Propulsion Branch. During his time at
NASA Academy, he traveled to present a 10 page
conference proceedings labeled “Numerical
Simulation of Supersonic Flow in Realistic
MEMS Nozzle Geometries with Heat Loss,” at the
33rd Annual AIAA Computational Fluid Dynamics
Conference in Orlando, FL. He then presented
an overview to his peers when he returned to
NASA Academy. Jeff is continuing his graduate
research at UVM, in collaboration with the
NASA PI and his faculty advisor, a VT-NASA
EPSCoR researcher.
Mark Miller of UVM spoke of
